The 1200 Foundation is a non-profit organization committed to supporting innovative local programs that help the working poor in the East Bay achieve economic self-sufficiency. |

Established in 2006, the 1200 Foundation partners with local organizations that provide job training, career counseling, entrepreneurship mentoring, education on financial literacy and other tools to help low-income individuals and families support themselves. As a grant-making organization, due diligence is conducted on every organization to ensure that the grants contribute to meaningful and effective programs that create opportunities for the working poor in the East Bay. There is a tremendous need to help the working poor. Based on a recent study, 25 percent of the residents of Alameda county and 21 percent of the residents of Contra Costa county have incomes too low to pay for housing, food, health care, transportation, and child care. With the help of these innovative programs, the people we support can rise above the poverty level, provide for their families and strengthen the communities in which they live and work. The 1200 Foundation is managed solely by volunteers. As a result, 100% of your donated funds go directly to the individual grants awarded each year. Each program we support is rigorously researched and monitored for success so that you can feel confident your donation is delivering results. Please join us and make a difference in the lives of the working poor in our own community. |
